H-1B Lottery Results Are Out!
March 31st was the last date USCIS releases lottery results of the FY 2021 H-1B cap-subject registrations. This means that if you have submitted a registration, the status of your petition is ready to be reviewed now.
The result will be shown on the registrant’s USCIS online account. The status displayed will be either submitted, selected, or denied, but what does each status mean?
Submitted: If your status says submitted, it means that your submission will continue to be under consideration for selection until the end of the fiscal year, when all registrations will fall under a status of selected, not selected, or denied.
Selected: Congratulations, you have been chosen to file an FY 2021 H-1B cap-subject petition. Now it is time to prepare all the documents needed to take your next step.
Denied: This status indicates that the same registrant submitted multiple registrations of the same beneficiary. Another possible explanation for the denial of registration is an unresolved payment problem. If the registration was denied due to duplication, all registrations by the registrants for this beneficiary during the current fiscal year become invalid.
Only petitioners with selected registrations are eligible to proceed to file petitions for beneficiaries of those selected registrations. H-1B petitions require various paperwork to be submitted for completion. If you were luckily chosen during the lottery and do not yet have an attorney to assist you through the process, please contact C.T. Lee and Associates for a consultation. Congratulations to all that were selected! For those who have been denied, please do not be discouraged. We are always ready to assist you through your appeals or second tries.
